I am working on a local grassroots campaign to promote the new documentary What’s ‘Organic’ About Organic? (http://ytorf.com/whatsorganicmovie.com/). Products from all over the world with the organic label have swept onto supermarket shelves over the last decade, but what does that label mean? Through the stories of farmers who steward land across the US – from a community garden in Harlem to a family owned cooperative farm in the foothills of the Rockies – What’s ‘Organic’ About Organic? reveals what is at stake in creating and maintaining meaningful standards for organic production to protect citizen interests, the environment and the livelihoods of family farmers. (please find a one page summary of the film and a bio of the Director attached)
Since the film is a call to organic and sustainable farming, which ties in so nicely with XXX mission, I wanted to see if you have any local outreach initiatives where you support local events in the area. Ideally, we would love to partner with XXX and add you as a co-host to our screening during XXX. We will have our Screen & Green Event at X VENUE from X date – Y date.
In an effort to make this a more meaningful movie-going experience for the audience, we are looking for organizations to co-host one of our screening nights. A co-host partnership would include the following:
– A presence at the screening
– A representative or member of your organization would be asked to participate in a post-screening panel discussion with X MODERATOR and sustainable food system thought leaders
– XXX flyers and membership forms could be handed out to the audience and made available at the attached theater cafe
We are excited to already have X PERSON of the X ORGANIZATION agree to speak at a screening and we would love to add XXX to our listed of co-hosts and panelists.
To have the XXX host a screening would be such a great way to raise awareness around the importance of organic food and highlight the work of the farmers behind the food we eat. If you are available, I would love to set up some time to quickly talk to you further about the potential to partner!
All the best,
